Pursuant to a notice posted on March 7, 2003, and revised on
March 10, 2003, and twice on March 11, 2003, the House Committee
on Appropriations met in a public hearing and was called to
order by the chair, Representative Heflin, at 2:03 p.m.

Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
The chair recognized Representative John Davis to lay out the
recommendations.

Representative John Davis moved the adoption of the building
blocks and Method of Finance as recommended by the subcommittee
and directed LBB staff to integrate the building blocks and the
Method of Finance into the bill pattern. Representative John
Davis further moved to adopt the changes to performance
measures, FTE levels for fiscal years 2004-2005, exempt salary
levels as indicated in the report or in the draft LBE and riders
as laid out. Without objection, the motion was adopted.
Rehabilitation Commission
The chair recognized Representative Truitt to lay out the
recommendations.
Representative Truitt moved the adoption of the building blocks
and Method of Finance as recommended by the subcommittee and
directed LBB staff to integrate the building blocks and the
Method of Finance into the bill pattern. Representative Truitt
further moved to adopt the changes to performance measures, FTE
levels for fiscal years 2004-2005, exempt salary levels as
indicated in the report or in the draft LBE and riders as laid
out. Without objection, the motion was adopted.
Texas Education Agency
The chair recognized Representative Pitts to lay out the
recommendations.

recommendations.

further moved to adopt the changes to performance measures, FTE

The chair recognized Representative Truitt to lay out the
recommendations.

The chair recognized Representative Eiland to lay out the
recommendations.

Method of Finance into the bill pattern. Representative Eiland
further moved to adopt the changes to performance measures, FTE
levels for fiscal years 2004-2005, exempt salary levels as

Department on Aging
The chair recognized Representative Eiland to lay out the
recommendations.
Representative Eiland moved the adoption of the building blocks

further moved to adopt the changes to performance measures, FTE

Interagency Council on Early Childhood Intervention
The chair recognized Representative Dukes to lay out the
recommendations.

Method of Finance into the bill pattern. Representative Dukes
further moved to adopt the changes to performance measures, FTE

At 8:18 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned until 8:00 a.m., March 18, 2003.
