         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 7, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Criminal Justice met in a  
         public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Turner, at 1:26 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Turner; Ellis; Stick (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Berman; Kolkhorst (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 1:39 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 1:44 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Turner. The roll was answered as  
         follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Turner; Ellis; Kolkhorst; Stick (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Berman (1). 
          
         A quorum was present.
