         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 11, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on General Government met in a  
         formal meeting and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Pickett, at 2:02 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Pickett; Crownover; Hamric (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Isett; McClendon (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee met to review pre-filed amendments for CSHB 1. 
          
         (Representative McClendon now present.) 
          
         At 4:56 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 6:00 p.m., April 13, 2003. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 7:23 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Pickett. The roll was answered as  
         follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Pickett; Crownover; Hamric (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Isett; McClendon (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee continued to review pre-filed amendments for  
         CSHB 1. 
          
         At 7:57 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
