Pursuant to a suspension of the 5-day posting rule and an
announcement made from the House floor on May 1, 2003, the House
Committee on Business & Industry met in a public hearing and was
called to order by the chair, Representative Giddings, at 8:18
a.m.

The chair laid out SB 611.
The chair recognized Representative McCall to explain the
measure.

measure.
The bill was left pending without objection.

The chair laid out SB 853.
The chair recognized Representative Martinez Fischer to explain
the measure.

The chair laid out SB 995 the companion to HB 2201 which had
been previously heard.
The chair recognized Representative Solomons to explain the
measure.
The chair recognized Representative Solomons to close on the
measure.
Representative Bohac moved that SB 995, without amendments, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:

reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on

adopted committee substitute had been adopted. The motion to
reconsider prevailed without objection.
The chair moved to withdraw the previously adopted committee
substitute. There being no objection, it was so ordered.
