Pursuant to a notice posted on June 30, 2003, and upon an
announcement and motion made in a public hearing on July 3,
2003, the House Committee on Redistricting reconvened in a
public hearing and was called to order by the chair,
Representative Crabb, at 2:18 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Crabb; Villarreal; Grusendorf; Isett;
King; Krusee; Marchant; McClendon; Morrison; Pitts;
Raymond; Talton; Wilson (13).
Absent: Representatives Flores; Luna (2).
A quorum was present.
HB 3
The chair laid out HB 3 as pending business, with a complete
committee substitute by King.
Representative Krusee offered an amendment to the committee
substitute.
Testimony from Legislator(s) was taken.

The amendment failed by the following record vote:

The chair directed the staff to incorporate the amendments into

The committee substitute, as amended, was adopted by the

Representative King moved that HB 3, as substituted, be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following
