         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 16, 2004, the House  
         Committee on Civil Practices met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Nixon, at 10:10  
         a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Nixon; Gattis; King; Krusee; Rose;  
                   Woolley (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Capelo; Davis, Yvonne; Hartnett (3). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 12:25 p.m., on the motion of Representative Gattis and  
         without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call  
         of the chair.
