         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 5, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Corrections met in a public hearing and was called  
         to order by the chair, Representative Allen, at 8:00 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Allen; Hopson; Alonzo; Haggerty; Mabry  
                   (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Stick; Farrar (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         (Representative Farrar now present.) 
          
         The committee heard testimony from representatives of the  
         Criminal Justice Policy Council, the Texas Department of  
         Criminal Justice, Correctional Managed Health Care, the Texas  
         Youth Commission, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles, and  
         the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission.  (See attached witness  
         list.) 
          
         The committee then heard public testimony.  (See attached  
         witness list.) 
          
         At 10:58 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
