Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on March 28,
2003, the House Committee on Corrections met in a formal meeting
and was called to order by the chair, Representative Allen, at
5:19 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Allen; Hopson; Stick; Alonzo; Farrar
(5).
Absent: Representatives Haggerty; Mabry (2).
A quorum was present.

HB 1856
The chair laid out HB 1856 as pending business.
The chair recognized Representative Allen to explain the
measure.
Representative Stick offered a complete committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
The chair recognized Representative Allen to close on the
measure.
Representative Alonzo moved that HB 1856, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Allen; Hopson; Stick;
Alonzo; Mabry (5).
Nays: Representative Farrar (1).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Haggerty (1).

The chair directed that the March 18, 2003, minutes for the
House Committee on Corrections be corrected. The corrected
minutes were authorized without objection.
At 5:23 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
