         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 3, 2004, the House Committee  
         on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a public hearing and was called  
         to order by the chair, Representative Keel, at 2:06 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Keel; Riddle; Denny; Hodge; Pena (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Ellis, Dan; Dunnam; Moreno, Paul;  
                   Talton (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Began work on the interim charge directing the committee to  
         review the Crime Victims' Compensation Fund, and in particular  
         evaluate whether there has been a possible diversion of funds  
         from crime victims as a result of prior legislation and whether  
         the Fund meets the objectives of its authorizing legislation.  
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 4:31 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
