The House Committee on General Investigating 78th Legislature August 5, 2003 12:00 p.m. or upon final adjourn./recess Capitol Extension, E2.030 Pursuant to a notice posted on August 1, 2003, the House Committee on General Investigating met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Bailey, at 12:13 p.m. The roll was answered as follows: Present: Representatives Bailey; Flynn; Keel (3). Absent: Representatives Paxton; Dutton (2). A quorum was present. The committee was given an update on the progress of the establishment of the rules proposed by the Texas Department of Public Safety concerning HB 2703, the Crime Lab Accreditation legislation. Chairman Bailey called Cindy Jorgensen from Health and Human Services to testify before the committee on her role concerning Clarendon and the CHIP contract. (Representative Paxton now present at 12:22 p.m.) Chairman Bailey called on Charles Bell from HHSC to address the committee. Chairmen Bailey called on Gary Young to explain his role concerning the CHIP program at HHSC. Chairman Bailey recalled Cindy Jorgensen to provide the answer to a question from Representative Flynn which she obtained by phone from HHSC. Chairman Bailey then called on Rhonda Masters from CHS to explain her role with Clarendon, Community Health Solutions and the CHIP program. At 1:26 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair. ________________________ Rep.
