         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 18, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Public Education met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Grusendorf, at 2:06  
         p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Grusendorf; Branch; Dawson; Eissler;  
                   Griggs; Hochberg; Madden (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Oliveira; Dutton (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         Invited testimony was taken on the issue of Urban Schools.  (See  
         attached witness list.)   
          
         At 5:24 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
