         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 1, 2003,  
         the House Committee on Rules & Resolutions met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Edwards, at 1:51 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Edwards; Wong; Bohac; Canales;  
                   Casteel; Eissler; Hughes; Keffer, Bill; Zedler (9). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Cook, Byron; Quintanilla (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Chairman Edwards explained to the committee members that a  
         proposed resolution calendar will be sent to each member's  
         office every Tuesday.  The committee will meet every Thursday to  
         set a Congratulatory and Memorial Calendar for every Saturday  
         from here on. 
          
         Representative Casteel, seconded by Representative Eissler moved  
         to place the following measures on the Congratulatory and  
         Memorial Resolutions Calendar for Saturday, May 3, 2003:
