         Pursuant to a notice posted on July 1, 2003, the House Committee  
         on Transportation met in a public hearing and was called to  
         order by the chair, Representative Krusee, at 8:13 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Laney; Mercer (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Hamric; Edwards; Hill (3). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         The chair laid out HB 8. 
          
         Chairman Krusee explained the bill.

         (Representative Hamric now present.) 
          
         The chair referred the bill to the subcommittee on HB 8. 
          
         The chair named the following members to the subcommittee on HB  
         8:  Representative Phillips, Chair; Representatives Garza and  
         Harper-Brown. 
          
         At 9:21 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
