Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 19,
2003, the House Committee on Urban Affairs met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative
Talton, at 5:21 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Talton; Van Arsdale; Menendez; Hunter;
Wong (5).
Absent: Representatives Bailey; Edwards (2).
A quorum was present.
SB 734
The chair laid out SB 734.
The chair recognized Representative Hunter to explain the
measure.
Representative Hunter moved that SB 734, without amendments, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Talton; Van Arsdale; Hunter;
Wong (4).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Menendez; Bailey; Edwards (3).
SB 1918
The chair laid out SB 1918.
Representative Talton offered a complete committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Hunter moved that SB 1918, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Talton; Van Arsdale;
Menendez; Hunter; Wong (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Bailey; Edwards (2).
At 5:25 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
