         Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of  
         the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Wednesday,  
         January 22, 2003, in the Senate Chamber-Senator Harris' desk

         The chair called the meeting to order at 2:34 p.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         Senator Harris laid out the Senate Administration Committee  
         Rules and moved adoption.  Senator Van de Putte seconded the  
         motion.  The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nay,  
         0 present not voting, and 0 absent. 
          
         The chair laid out SB 220 and recognized the author, Senator  
         Harris, to explain the bill.  Senator Harris moved that SB 220  
         be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that  
         it do pass and be printed  Senator Hinojosa seconded the motion.   
         The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nay, 0  
         present not voting, and 0 absent.   
          
         The chair laid out SJR 15 and recognized the author, Senator  
         Harris, to explain the bill.  Senator Harris moved that SJR 15  
         be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that  
         it do pass and be printed.  Senator Hinojosa seconded the  
         motion.  The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nay,  
         0 present not voting, and 0 absent.   
          
         There being no further business, at 2:36 p.m. Senator Harris  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
