         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Administration was held on Monday, March 10, 2003, in E1.714

         The chair called the meeting to order at 5:10 p.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         Senator Wentworth moved adoption of the minutes from the  
         previous hearing held on February 3, 2003; Senator Jackson  
         seconded the motion; without objection, it was so ordered.   
          
         Chairman Harris asked if there were any questions or comments  
         about any of the bills recommended for the March 13, 2003, Local  
         and Uncontested Calendar. There was discussion.    Senator  
         Wentworth moved that all bills with the exception of SB 161 and  
         SB 366 on the Local and Uncontested Calendar recommended list be  
         certified; the motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0  
         nay, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent.  Senator Whitmire asked  
         to be shown voting aye on the certification of the recommended  
         list for the March 13, 2003, Local and Uncontested Calendar;  
         without objection, it was so ordered. 
         The Committee considered and approved Administration Committee  
         business. 
          
         There being no further business, at 5:36 p.m. Senator Harris  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
