         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Administration was held on Monday, April 7, 2003, in the  
         Administration Committee room, E1.714

         The chair called the meeting to order at 4:23 p.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         Senator Harris moved adoption of the minutes from the previous  
         hearings held on March 31, 2003, and March 24, 2003; without  
         objection, it was so ordered.   
          
         The chair laid out the recommended list for the Local and  
         Uncontested Calendar scheduled for April 10, 2003, at 8:00 a.m.   
         The chair explained to the members that the committee would be  
         holding SB 194 and SB 705  to await their House Bill companions  
         that had already been sent to the Senate for consideration;  
         without objection, it was so ordered.  There was discussion on  
         the recommended list.  Senator Wentworth moved that all bills on  
         the Local and Uncontested Calendar recommended list except SB  
         194, SB 705, SB 342 and SB 382 be certified.  The motion carried  
         with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent and 0 present not  
         voting. 
          
         There being no further business, at 4:37 p.m. Senator Wentworth  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
