         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Administration was held on Thursday, May 1, 2003, in the Senate  
         Committee on Administration Office, E1.714.

         The chair called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:  
          
         The chair laid out the Local and Uncontested Calender for May 6,  
         2003.  There was discussion. Senator Hinojosa moved to certify  
         all bills other than SB 250, SB 963, SB 1489, SB 1543, and SB  
         1563.  SB 1413 and SB 705 were added.  The motion carried with a  
         record vote of 7 ayes and 0 nayes. 
          
         Senator Hinojosa moved adoption of the minutes from the previous  
         hearing held on April 28, 2003; without objection, it was so  
         ordered.   
          
         There being no further business, at 4:20 p.m. Senator Harris  
         moved that the Committee be adjourned. Without objection, it was  
         so ordered.
