Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule
11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Business &
Commerce was held on Thursday, March 13, 2003, in the Betty King
Committee Hearing Room, 2E.20, at Austin, Texas.

Chairman Fraser called the meeting to order at 9:08 a.m. There
being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
The Chairman called Jose Montemayor, Commissioner, Texas
Department of Insurance, to present an initial report on the
data received from insurers as a result of SB 310. Also
testifying were Philip Presley and J'ne Byckorski of the Texas
Department of Insurance. The Commissioner advised that a final
report would be available March 28, 2003.
Upon completion of the above testimony, and there being no
further business, at 9:50 a.m. the Chairman moved that the
Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chairman.
Without objection, it was so ordered.
