There was no action taken for the following bill(s): SB 1359, SB 1541 and SB 1542 The following bills were referred to the Subcommittee on Higher Education: SB 1319, SB 1367, SB 1368, SB 1476, and SB 1717. The chair laid out SB 76 and recognized the author, Senator Zaffirini, to explain the bill. The motion carried with a record vote of 9 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. Upon arrival of a quorum, Senator Ogden moved that SB 1366 do not pass but that CSSB 1366 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 9 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. Upon arrival of a quorum, Senator Shapiro moved that SB 1394 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 9 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. At 10:51 a.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the chair. Upon arrival of a quorum, Senator Zaffirini moved that SB 1510 do not pass but that CSSB 1510 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 9 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. At 10:52 a.m. Senator West assumed the chair. SB 933 by Senator Shapiro was previously laid out in Committee on April 1, 2003. Senator Shapiro moved that SB 933 do not pass but that CSSB 933 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 3 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent. At 10:54 a.m. Senator Shapiro assumed the chair.
