         The chair called the meeting to order at 8:02 a.m.  The  
         committee was in recess from the previous day.  The following  
         business was transacted:

         The chair named a working group to study executive director's  
         salaries.  Members are Senator West, Chair, Senator Barrientos  
         and Senator Brimer.

         At 8:55 a.m. Senator Zaffirini assumed the chair.

         At 9:01 a.m. Senator Bivins resumed the chair.

         At 10:47 a.m. Senator Bivins moved that the committee stand  
         recessed until one hour after the Session adjourns; without  
         objection, it was so ordered.
