MINUTES SENATE COMMITTEE ON STATE AFFAIRS Thursday, July 17, 2003 11:00 a.m. or upon adjournment Senator Staples' Desk ***** Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on State Affairs was held on Thursday, July 17, 2003, in the Senate Chamber at Senator Staples' Desk. ***** MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: Senator Todd Staples Senator Bill Ratliff Senator Robert Duncan Senator Kenneth Armbrister Senator Chris Harris Senator Rodney Ellis Senator Frank Madla Senator Troy Fraser Senator Jane Nelson ***** Vice Chairman Staples called the meeting to order at 11:35 a.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: Senator Staples laid out HB 16 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Nelson, to explain the bill. Senator Staples then opened public testimony. There being no one present wishing to testify or register on the bill, Senator Staples moved that testimony be closed; without objection it was so ordered. Senator Nelson moved that HB 16 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 4 absent. There being no further business, at 11:37 a.m., Senator Staples moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.
