MINUTES SENATE COMMITTEE ON STATE AFFAIRS Monday, January 10, 2005 3:00 p.m. Senate Chamber ***** Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on State Affairs was held on Monday, January 10, 2005, in the Senate Chamber at Austin, Texas. ***** MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: Senator Robert Duncan None Senator Tommy Williams Senator Kenneth Armbrister Senator Rodney Ellis Senator Troy Fraser Senator Chris Harris Senator Frank Madla Senator Jane Nelson Senator Florence Shapiro ***** The chair called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: The Chair called the appointed Master of Discovery, Senator Jeff Wentworth, before the committee to report his findings concerning the contest of the general election for State Senator from Senate District 6. Senator Wentworth presented his findings and recommendations to the Committee and entertained questions from the members. Senator Williams laid out the committee report and David Hanna of the Legislative Council came before the Committee to explain the report and answer questions. Senator Williams moved that the committee report be adopted, a roll call vote was taken. There being 9 ayes, 0 nays, 0 PNV and 0 absent, the committee report was adopted. There being no further business, Senator Duncan moved that the Committee be adjourned.
