MINUTES Monday, May 26, 2003 9:00 a.m. Capitol Extension, Room E1.028 ***** Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Infrastructure Development and Security Committee was held on Monday, May 26, 2003, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.028, at Austin, Texas. ***** MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: Senator Steve Ogden Senator Frank Madla Senator Gonzalo Barrientos Senator Bob Deuell Senator Rodney Ellis Senator Jon Lindsay Senator Florence Shapiro Senator Eliot Shapleigh Senator Jeff Wentworth ***** The chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: Senator Lindsay moved that the committee stand at ease until 30 minutes after Senate session adjournment; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Ogden reconvened the hearing at 4:45 p.m. Senator Ogden moved that the committee stand at ease for 15 minutes; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Ogden reconvened the hearing at 5:03 p.m. Discussion of floor amendments to be recommended on HB 3588 began. The chair laid out Floor Amendments 1, 4 (with amendment to the amendment 41), 9, 10, 11, 12, 14 (with amendment to the amendment 42), and 16. All of the above mentioned amendments were accepted. Senator Ogden moved that the committee stand at ease; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Ogden reconvened the hearing at 5:50 p.m. Discussion of floor amendments to be recommended on HB 3588 continued. The chair laid out Floor Amendments 17, 15, 27, 29, 33 (with the amendment to the amendment 43 and amendment to the amendment 48), 34, and 40. All of the above mentioned amendments were accepted. Senator Ogden moved that the committee stand at ease; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Ogden reconvened the hearing at 6:50 p.m. Discussion of floor amendments to be recommended on HB 3588 continued. The chair laid out Floor Amendments 20 and 60. Senator Shapleigh moved adoption of Floor Amendment 20; the motion to adopt failed. Floor amendment 60 was accepted. The committee discussed HB 471 and HJR 28.
