Ortiz International Center, Corpus Christi ***** MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: Senator Eliot Shapleigh Senator Troy Fraser Senator Craig Estes ***** The chair called the meeting to order at 1:35 p.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: The Senate Subcommittee on Base Realignment and Closure heard invited and public testimony regarding the upcoming Department of Defense's Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) round, the preparations ensuing in Corpus Christi, Ingleside, Kingsville and the surrounding areas. Also addressed were the challenges faced and needs of defense-dependent communities in preparing for BRAC and beyond.
