         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Joint Select Committee on Public  
         School Finance was held on Wednesday, September 10, 2003, in the  
         House Appropriations Committee Room, E1.030

         The chair called the meeting to order at 10:11 a.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         The Chair made opening remarks and welcomed the members of the  
         Committee who did not previously attend the August 6th hearing. 
          
         Senator Shapiro moved adoption of the Committee rules, without  
         objection; it was so ordered. 
          
         Witnesses testifying and registering on the issue are shown on  
         the attached list.   
          
         At 12:19 a.m. Senator Shapiro assumed the chair.   
         At 12:35 p.m. Senator Shapiro moved that the committee stand at  
         ease for five minutes; without objection, it was so ordered.   
          
         At 12:49 p.m. Representative Grusendorf resumed the chair.  At  
  
         12:49 p.m. the hearing was called back to order. 
          
         The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without  
         objection, it was so ordered. 
          
         There being no further business, at 2:22 p.m. Representative  
         Grusendorf moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to  
         the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
