The Senate Subcommittee on Higher Education will hold a hearing on
Monday, October 18th at 1 p.m., in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012.

The Subcommittee will discuss Joint Interim Charge #2 relating to studying
and making recommendations evaluating the cost of increasing the number
of Tier 1 universities in Texas.  Specifically, the Subcommittee will
reconsider input from the regional universities regarding the creation
of higher education enhancement districts and authorizing a sales and
use or property tax.

The Subcommittee will hear invited and public testimony on the issue.

This will not be a joint hearing with the Senate Finance Committee.
