Amend HB 2, on Page 17, strike Line 3 through Line 10, and 

substitute in lieu thereof the following:

	Sec. 42.201.  TRANSPORTATION ALLOTMENT.  (a)  Each school 

district or county operating a regular transportation system is 

entitled to an allotment per mile for each approved route mile 

traveled by the system in an amount that corresponds to the overall 

average daily attendance of that school district, or to the overall 

average daily attendance of that county, using an equitable formula 

to be established by the Texas Education Agency.

	(b)  If the amount of an allotment under this section that a 

school district or county receives exceeds the district's or 

county's true and actual cost of operating the transportation 

system, the district or county may use the excess funds for any 

legal purpose, but must report the amount of excess to the Texas 

Education Agency.
