Amend CSHB 2 as follows:                                                     

	(1)  In Section 1A.01 by amending Section 42.002(a) on lines 

10 and 11 and adding new Section  41.002(a-1) and (a-2) on page 1 

between line 11 and line 12 to read as follows:

	(a)  Except as provided in subsection (a-1), a [A] school 

district may not have a wealth per student that exceeds $339,000

[$305,000].

	(a-1)  The wealth per student in subsection (a) is increased 

in any year by the amount of wealth per student that would produce 

the increase in yield in the guaranteed level of state and local 

funds per student per cent of tax effort in Section 42.302 for that 

year.

	(a-2)  The provisions of this chapter do not apply in any year 

in which the guaranteed level of state and local funds per student 

per cent of tax effort in Section 42.302 is equal to or greater than 

the wealth level of the school district at the 98th percentile in 

wealth per student under the provisions of section 42.302.
