Amend CSSB 62 in SECTION 1 of the bill, in added Chapter 2206,
Government Code, by adding the following appropriately numbered
section and renumbering the existing sections as appropriate:
Sec. 2206. . CONDEMNATION OF PROPERTY WITH CERTAIN SIGNS.
(a) In this section, "off-premise sign" means an outdoor sign
displaying advertising that pertains to a business, person,
organization, activity, event, place, service, or product not
principally located or primarily manufactured or sold on the
premises on which the sign is located.
(b) If property containing an off-premise sign is taken
under the power of eminent domain, the rights associated with an
off-premise sign that is lawfully in existence but no longer
complies with current applicable laws and regulations, including
laws and regulations promulgated under Chapter 391 or 394,
Transportation Code, or Chapter 216, Local Government Code, vest in
the owner of the non-conforming off-premise sign.
