A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the composition of the Brooks County Juvenile Board. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 152.0301(a), Human Resources Code, is amended to read as follows: (a) The juvenile board of Brooks County is composed of the judges of the county and district courts in the county. The board must have not fewer than five [three] nor more than seven [five] members. The judges of the county and district courts in the county may appoint an appropriate number of public members to serve on the board without compensation if necessary to satisfy this requirement. The chairman of the board shall determine the number of public members to be appointed to the board. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2005.
