R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A large and loving family celebrates the life of 
Ella Diggs, who died on September 4, 2004, at the age of 99; and
	WHEREAS, Born on December 12, 1904, in East Columbia, Mrs. 
Diggs attended public schools in the Greenhill community and was a 
lifetime resident of Brazoria County; she married Maxie Diggs, and 
their union was blessed with nine children, 71 grandchildren, 134 
great-grandchildren, and 336 great-great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, An active congregant at the Mount Zion Baptist 
Church, Mrs. Diggs was a valued member of the community, which knew 
her affectionately as "Mama Ella"; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Diggs dedicated her life to raising her 
children, and now the family gathers every September to share their 
memories of joyful times and loving moments spent in her company; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay special tribute to the 
life of Ella Diggs; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of 
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ella Diggs.
