R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Dorothy Carolyn and Stanley W. Harris of Midland 
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 5, 2005, marking 
a milestone in their long and happy union; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Harris and the former Dorothy Carolyn Nichols 
were united in matrimony in Wewoka, Oklahoma, on June 5, 1955, and 
have since enjoyed a marriage that has been blessed with a son, 
Stanley, and two grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Valued residents of Midland since 1969, the loving 
pair have both retired from successful careers, he as a teacher and 
she with the county tax office; today, they enjoy membership at 
First Baptist Church; and
	WHEREAS, The enduring union of Stanley and Dorothy Harris 
remains a genuine source of inspiration to those with whom they have 
shared their lives, and it is indeed a pleasure to join them in 
celebrating half a century of happiness together; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Dorothy 
Carolyn and Stanley W. Harris on the joyous occasion of their golden 
wedding anniversary and that they be extended best wishes for the 
future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Harris as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
