R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Auvie and Cletys Bailey of Midland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 25, 2005, marking a special milestone in their long and happy union; and WHEREAS, Mr. Bailey and the former Cletys Keeling were united in matrimony on May 25, 1955, at the West Orange Baptist Church in Orange, and they have since enjoyed a marriage filled with love, trust, and mutual respect; and WHEREAS, Valued residents of Midland since the late 1950s, the Baileys previously resided in Nacogdoches and Baytown; Mr. Bailey, a retired employee of Union Oil of California, and Mrs. Bailey, a dedicated homemaker, have been blessed with four children, Jason, Gaines, Stanley, and Patricia, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Throughout the past half-century, Auvie and Cletys Bailey have shared life's triumphs and challenges, and their enduring union remains a genuine source of inspiration to their family members and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Auvie and Cletys Bailey on the joyous occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bailey as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
