R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The year 2005 marks the 125th anniversary of the founding of the First National Bank of Weatherford; and WHEREAS, First opened on July 1, 1880, this enduring institution is thought to be the oldest national bank in Texas and has proven itself to be a lasting and valued part of the local community; in recognition of its success and longevity, July 1, 2005, has been named "First National Bank Day" in Parker County; and WHEREAS, Through the years, this independently owned "hometown" bank has earned a reputation for personal service and commitment to customer satisfaction that is reminiscent of days past; moreover, it gives back to the greater community through its generous support of local charities and events; and WHEREAS, The First National Bank of Weatherford has been a reliable provider of financial services to the citizens of Parker County for more than a century, and it is a pleasure to recognize this fine Texas business on this historic occasion; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the First National Bank of Weatherford on its 125th anniversary and extend to all those associated sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the bank as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
