R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jade Yost of Austin was elected president of the postsecondary division of the Business Professionals of America on April 25, 2005, at the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California; and WHEREAS, With a national membership exceeding 54,000, the Business Professionals of America sets a standard of excellence for vocational student organizations as it strives to prepare a world-class workforce and act as a cohesive agent in the global education, business, and industry network; and WHEREAS, The annual National Leadership Conference offers the membership and advisors an opportunity to participate in the Workplace Skills Assessment Program, develop leadership skills, test for software certification, share in fellowship, and elect national officers; the officers elected at this important gathering contribute to the membership by providing field services, leadership training, and workshops; and WHEREAS, In his capacity as president of the organization's postsecondary division, Mr. Yost enjoys membership on the executive council as well as on the board of trustees, where he can significantly contribute to the creation, direction, and supervision of the association's activities; and WHEREAS, Mr. Yost, who is pursuing double associate's degrees in legal and medical office management at Austin Business College, has achieved a notable position within one of the premier business associations in America; through his leadership and commitment to excellence, he will undoubtedly build an exceptional record of achievement; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jade Yost on being elected president of the postsecondary division of the Business Professionals of America and extend to him sincere best wishes for success in all his future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Yost as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
