H.R. No. 61
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Government Employees Credit Union of El Paso
offers the benefits of both a commercial financial institution and
a member-owned cooperative, and those Texans who give of their time
and talents to serve the organization as board members help to
ensure the ongoing success of this vital community resource; and
WHEREAS, Maria C. Appelzoller is one such individual, and she
has proven to be an effective advocate for the interests of her
fellow credit union members since being appointed to serve as an
advisory director of GECU in September 2004; and
WHEREAS, The administrative director of the Border
Environment Cooperation Commission, Ms. Appelzoller also serves as
its technical assistance program manager and contracts officer and
brings a wealth of professional experience to her work with the
credit union; and
WHEREAS, During her outstanding tenure on the board, Ms.
Appelzoller has devoted herself to the welfare of the institution
and its members, setting a high standard of excellence for the
benefit of all; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Maria C. Appelzoller
for her service on the board of the Government Employees Credit
Union of El Paso and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Appelzoller as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
