R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Government Employees Credit Union of El Paso offers the benefits of both a commercial financial institution and a member-owned cooperative, and those Texans who give of their time and talents to serve the organization as board members help to ensure the ongoing success of this vital community resource; and WHEREAS, T. C. Prewitt is one such individual, and he has proven to be an effective advocate for the interests of his fellow credit union members throughout the years since he first joined the board in 1976; and WHEREAS, The chair and CEO of GECU at the time of his retirement in 1996, Mr. Prewitt began his long professional association with the credit union in 1956, and he went on to serve in a number of positions, including loan officer, senior loan officer, vice president, senior vice president, and executive vice president; and WHEREAS, During his outstanding tenure on the board, Mr. Prewitt has devoted himself to the welfare of the institution and its members, setting a high standard of excellence for the benefit of all; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor T. C. Prewitt for his service on the board of the Government Employees Credit Union of El Paso and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Prewitt as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
