H.R. No. 201
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. Louis C. Sidney, Sr., and Darlene Sidney are
being honored for their outstanding service to St. Paul Missionary
Baptist Church in Houston on July 23, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Under Pastor Sidney's able leadership for the past
21 years, St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church has thrived and become
a respected member of the Bayou City's religious community; in
addition to providing his congregants with inspired teachings,
Dr. Sidney has distinguished himself as dean of the Progressive
Peaceful Union District Association, president of the HPD Northeast
Multi-Cultural Coalition, and as a member of the Northeast
Ministerial Council and the Northeast Harris County Christian
Ministers Alliance; and
WHEREAS, Joining Dr. Sidney in his support of the church is
his wife, Darlene Leatrice Sidney, with whom he shares five
children and 13 grandchildren, and a devoted congregation; and
WHEREAS, For more than two decades, the Sidneys have
dedicated their lives to serving their church and the greater
community, and it is a sincere privilege to honor them for their
immeasurable contributions; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Dr. Louis C.
Sidney, Sr., and Darlene Sidney for their years of service to
St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and extend to them sincere best
wishes for continued success with their important work; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. and Mrs. Sidney as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
