R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Jerry and Peggy Hertel of Midland marked their 
golden wedding anniversary on June 12, 2005, with a gathering of 
family and friends; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Hertel and the former Peggy Martin were married 
in 1955 in a ceremony held in Cresson; their enduring union has been 
blessed with four children, Russell, Kathleen Hope, Cynthia, and 
Skipper Hertel, as well as six grandchildren and three 
great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Residents of Midland since 1970, the couple 
previously lived in Cresson and Weatherford and are former 
employees of Leamco; Mr. Hertel retired from M&H pumping unit 
service 11 years ago and is a member of the USS Missouri 
Association; and
	WHEREAS, This devoted pair have shared the myriad joys and 
challenges of marriage and parenthood, and it is appropriate to 
take this opportunity to honor them; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jerry and 
Peggy Hertel on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them 
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hertel as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
