H.R. No. 208



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Half a century of marriage is truly cause for 
celebration, and on June 4, 2005, Loren and Bobbie Roberts of 
Abilene observed this significant milestone in their life together; 
and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Roberts and the former Bobbie Shelton were 
joined in matrimony in 1955, in a ceremony held in Midland, and they 
have lived in Mesquite and Dallas as well as in Oklahoma City, 
Atlanta, and Corona, California; and
	WHEREAS, The couple have nurtured a rewarding relationship 
that has been richly blessed with three children, Susan Miller, 
Shannon Roberts, and Phil Roberts, and they have welcomed the 
arrival of four cherished grandchildren into their family; and
	WHEREAS, Now enjoying their well-deserved retirement, Mrs. 
Roberts was a school music teacher, while Mr. Roberts was employed 
in real estate and insurance and with Mobil Oil; they are members of 
the Pioneer Baptist Church in Abilene; and
	WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have shared the trials 
and triumphs of five decades, and it is a pleasure to join in 
honoring them on the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding 
anniversary; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Loren and 
Bobbie Roberts on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to 
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Roberts as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
