H.R. No. 212


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, George and Maxine Nafe of Mineola marked a special event in their life together with the observance of their golden wedding anniversary on June 9, 2005; and WHEREAS, Mr. Nafe and the former Maxine Sparks became husband and wife on June 9, 1955, in a ceremony held in Dallas, and throughout their marriage they have nurtured a mutually loving, supportive relationship that has served to inspire their circle of loved ones; and WHEREAS, Blessed with a treasured family, the couple take great pride in their children, Karen Nafe and Lori Nafe Miller and her husband, Tommy, and in their grandchildren, Thomas and Kyle Miller; and WHEREAS, In addition to managing the couple's home over the years, Mrs. Nafe also handled the responsibilities of a career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, from which she is retired; Mr. Nafe was formerly employed with the Harris Corporation and currently works with the Mineola Housing Authority; and WHEREAS, For five decades, George and Maxine Nafe have embraced the myriad rewards and challenges of marriage and parenthood, and they are truly deserving of special recognition on this joyous occasion; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate George and Maxine Nafe on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Nafe as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
