R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Carly Bender of Dallas has won the Junior Texas
State Grand Twirling Championship for 2005, and she will represent
the Lone Star State at the National Baton Twirling Association
Championship at the University of Notre Dame in July of this year;
and
WHEREAS, Miss Bender's unique energy and drive have
distinguished her baton-twirling performance in competition and
have helped to earn her the titles of Junior Texas State Grand
Twirling Champion and Southwest Regional Two Baton Champion; and
WHEREAS, A student at Highland Park High School, this
talented and vivacious young woman is the daughter of proud parents
Carolyn and Gary Bender; in her leisure time, she is actively
involved with the Park Cities National Charity League and enjoys
acting, swimming, and tennis; and
WHEREAS, Miss Bender has demonstrated exemplary dedication
in achieving this honor, and through her enthusiasm, grace, and
skill, she has proven herself a worthy recipient of the Junior Texas
State Grand Twirling Championship; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Carly Bender
on achieving the title of Junior Texas State Grand Twirling
Champion for 2005 and recognize July 20-26, 2005, as National Baton
Twirling Week; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Miss Bender as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
