R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, August 5, 2004, was indeed a special day for Leslie
and Jed Lackman, for it marked the occasion of the birth of their
adorable baby girl, Sadye Jane Lackman; and
WHEREAS, Sadye Jane weighed eight pounds and measured 20.5
inches when she made her debut at St. John's Medical Center in Santa
Monica, California, and her long-awaited arrival brought great joy
to her close-knit family; and
WHEREAS, Despite the geographical circumstances of her
birth, Sadye has shown a fondness for barbecue, pickup trucks, and
bluebonnets, and she will undoubtedly embrace her family's beloved
Texas traditions and proud Lone Star heritage; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lackman share a close friendship with
Robert Doggett and Raman Gill of Austin, with whom they have pledged
to maintain close ties and to nurture all traits in young Sadye that
are undeniably Texan; and
WHEREAS, Though Sadye Jane resides in California, she is
truly a Texan at heart, and it is indeed fitting that this beautiful
new addition to the Lackman family be accorded honorary Lone Star
citizenship; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Leslie and Jed
Lackman on the birth of their daughter and officially recognize
Sadye Jane Lackman as an honorary Texan, with all the rights and
privileges accorded those individuals native to the Lone Star
State; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Sadye Jane Lackman and her parents as formal
documentation of her newfound status and as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
