R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Kenneth Ennis of Lancaster has been selected to
receive a 2005 Future African American Leadership Award from the
Texas Legislative Black Caucus; and
WHEREAS, The son of Ron and Linda Ennis and a graduate of
Trinity Christian School, where he was an active student council
member and class treasurer, Mr. Ennis is a member of Mount Sinai
Baptist Church and was voted its Youth of the Year for two
consecutive years; he demonstrated his commitment to the community
by chairing the sickle cell fund-raising committee for Top Teens of
America; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan is also a talented
musician and has already started his own record label and released
an album; he plans on continuing to produce "positive music" after
studying business at Xavier University in Louisiana, which he will
attend in the fall; and
WHEREAS, Being presented with a Future African American
Leadership Award is truly a prestigious honor, and it is indeed
appropriate to take this opportunity to commend Mr. Ennis for his
achievements; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Kenneth Ennis
on his receipt of a 2005 Future African American Leadership Award
from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and extend to him best
wishes for success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Ennis as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
