R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Kimberly A. Quirk, director of public affairs communications for Texas Instruments, has been elected to the Richardson ISD Board of Trustees, where she brings more than 20 years of experience in public relations and communications and a notable commitment to working for a strong system of public education; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Quirk joined TI in 1996; she was program manager for the company's media relations program to news, business, and investor audiences and also directed major communication programs relating to the reshaping of the company from 1996 to 1999; prior to working for TI, she worked for Raytheon and the American Lung Association; and WHEREAS, A cum laude graduate of Southern Methodist University, Mrs. Quirk plays an active role in the Richardson community; she serves on the board of directors for the RISD Tomorrow Foundation and the Dallas Black Dance Theater; she is an active member of the Public Affairs advisory committees for The Family Place and the RISD Texas Scholars program, and she volunteers for the Richardson school district; she is also a 2002 graduate of Leadership Dallas and belongs to the Richardson Chamber of Commerce Education Committee; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Quirk began serving her three-year term on the Richardson ISD Board of Trustees in June 2005, and it is a pleasure to commend her for her dedication and hard work as she embarks on this most important endeavor; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Kimberly Quirk on her 2005 election to the Richardson ISD Board of Trustees and extend to her best wishes for success in all her future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Quirk as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
