R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Kracynthia Flowers has earned the Concerned DeSoto 
Citizens 2005 Helen Giddings Scholarship; and
	WHEREAS, Maintaining a remarkable grade point average of 
4.0037, Ms. Flowers graduated from DeSoto High School with honors 
in 2005, earning the respect and admiration of her teachers and 
peers alike; she distinguished herself as a leader during her high 
school career, and enjoyed her position as a varsity cheerleader; 
and
	WHEREAS, In addition to her many scholastic accomplishments, 
this notable young woman has dedicated her time and talents to a 
host of worthy programs, including the American Stroke Association 
and Teddy Bears for Tots; she has also given back to her community 
as a coach for the DeSoto Trojans Little League Cheerleaders and as 
a Sunday school teacher and puppeteer for the children of Oak Cliff 
Bible Fellowship; and
	WHEREAS, In the fall, Ms. Flowers plans to attend the 
University of North Texas, where she will major in economics; she 
intends to become an attorney and hopes to one day serve her country 
as a member of the United States Supreme Court; and
	WHEREAS, Kracynthia Flowers has consistently demonstrated 
excellence in academics, while setting a positive example as a 
community leader and volunteer, and her energy, determination, and 
enthusiasm have enabled her to attain a level of distinction to 
which all our state's young people can aspire; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Kracynthia Flowers on 
her receipt of the Concerned DeSoto Citizens 2005 Helen Giddings 
Scholarship and extend to her sincere best wishes for success in all 
her future endeavors; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Flowers as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
