H.R. No. 241


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Robert B. Nusser has stepped down from his Place 7 seat on the Richardson City Council, concluding an outstanding tenure in municipal governance in Richardson that has spanned the past decade; and WHEREAS, During his years on the council, Mr. Nusser distinguished himself as a member of its Education Committee, Residential Strategies Committee, and Retail Committee, and from 1994 to 1995, he also worked in behalf of the community on the Zoning Board of Adjustments and the Fence Board; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Baker University, he is retired from a successful 34-year career with Sears as a distribution center manager; he came to his position on the council with a wealth of experience, having previously served for five terms as a member of the city council in Prairie Village, Kansas; and WHEREAS, Mr. Nusser is an active community volunteer, devoting his time and energy to several worthy organizations, including Grade School Mentoring, NETWORK of Community Ministries, and Volunteers in Policing; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the support of his wife, Pauline, and their children and grandchildren; and WHEREAS, For 10 years, Robert Nusser has provided visionary leadership and guidance to the citizens of Richardson, and it is a pleasure to honor him for his notable civic engagement; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby recognize Robert B. Nusser for his exemplary service as a member of the Richardson City Council and extend best wishes to him for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Nusser as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
