H.R. No. 245



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Steve Mitchell has been elected to Place 6 on the 
Richardson City Council, and this accomplishment is but the most 
recent event in a distinguished career of public service; and
	WHEREAS, Councilman Mitchell is well acquainted with the 
challenges and opportunities facing Richardson, having served for 
more than a decade on the city's Sign Control Board, which he also 
chaired, and for four years as a member of the City Planning 
Commission; and
	WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of North Texas, where 
he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting, 
Councilman Mitchell is currently a tax software project manager at 
RIA, and he brings to his civic responsibilities a keen 
understanding of the fiscal aspects of governance; and
	WHEREAS, His contributions to the community include his 
membership in the Richardson Rotary Club and the Greenwood Hills 
Neighborhood Association, which he currently serves as vice 
president; he is also a graduate of Leadership Richardson and the 
Citizens Police and Fire Academies; and
	WHEREAS, Those Texans who give of their time and talents in 
behalf of the greater good are truly deserving of our appreciation 
and admiration, and Steve Mitchell has distinguished himself as one 
such individual; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Steve 
Mitchell on his election to the Richardson City Council and extend 
to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Councilman Mitchell as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
