R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, July 14, 2005, is a special day indeed, as it marks the 50th wedding anniversary of Joe and Shirley Mac Reiman of Denton, and we join their family members and many friends in congratulating them on this memorable milestone; and WHEREAS, Joe Floyd Reiman and Shirley Mac Graham were both Denton natives who attended Denton High School and North Texas State, keeping steady company from the time they first met in seventh grade; and WHEREAS, The childhood sweethearts were married on July 14, 1955, at First Presbyterian Church in Denton, and their relationship has continued to grow in mutual admiration, affection, and respect; and WHEREAS, Over the years Mr. and Mrs. Reiman have taken great pride and pleasure in the growth of their family, which includes their son, Gary, and his wife, Jamie; their daughter, Louann, and her husband, Mark Breton; and their grandchildren, Adam, Emily, and Sarah Reiman; and WHEREAS, The Reimans also draw strength and support from the community of worship at the First Baptist Church of Denton, where theirs is a welcome presence, and where Mr. Reiman has been a valued member for more than six decades; he has served as hospital administrator at Denton Osteopathic Hospital and Mrs. Reiman is a homemaker; and WHEREAS, In celebrating their golden wedding anniversary, Joe and Shirley Mac Reiman offer eloquent testimony to the value of commitment and the power of enduring love, and their marriage is an inspiration and a joy to all those fortunate enough to know them; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Joe and Shirley Mac Reiman on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Reiman as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
